No. There are no timers, bells or compulsory one-to-one rotations. You can move around freely and let a good conversation continue.

Absolutely. Many guests will arrive alone. Your host will welcome you, explain the evening and help introductions happen naturally.

The next evening, on Thursday 8 October 2026, is for single people aged 18–30. Future events will include other age groups and different communities.

No. Every activity is optional. The conversation cards and coloured stickers are simply there to make starting a conversation easier.

Event Match is an optional private Telegram space for people attending a UK Social Dating event. It helps attendees identify and reconnect with somebody they met during the evening.

No. UK Social Dating is built around meeting people face-to-face first. Only attendees receive access, by scanning the private Event Match QR code at the venue. No live QR code or permanent Telegram event invite is published on this website.

No. It is completely optional. You can still attend and enjoy UK Social Dating without joining Telegram or Event Match.

No. You can communicate through Telegram first and decide later whether you want to exchange other contact details. Your phone-number visibility depends on your own Telegram privacy settings; check Settings → Privacy & Security → Phone Number before attending.

Event Match remains available for 48 hours after the event, then closes. The event content is removed and attendees are removed from that space. Closing the event space does not delete private conversations you have started.

No. UKSD does not automatically match attendees. You choose who you would like to contact after meeting people at the event.

Only your first name and one clear current selfie. Event Match does not ask you to post your surname, address, workplace, phone number or dating-profile answers. You choose what else, if anything, to share with other attendees.

Other Event Match participants may be able to send you a Telegram message. There is no obligation to reply. Repeated or unwanted contact should be reported to the UK Social Dating host.

Your selfie is used within that event’s Event Match area to help other attendees identify you. The event content is removed when Event Match closes. Attendees must not screenshot, save or share another attendee’s photograph or information outside Event Match.

Smart casual is ideal. Choose something that helps you feel comfortable and confident rather than dressing for an interview.

Entry, private use of the entire Sage café area, the hosted evening and one free welcome drink are included. Choose one glass of red or white wine, any bottled beer or any soft drink. Spirits are not included. Attendees may also use the wider public areas of The Fellows House, including Folio Bar & Kitchen and its food-and-drink areas; these wider spaces are shared with other hotel guests and are not private to the event. Attendees receive 20% off food and drinks at Folio Bar & Kitchen from 7pm until the venue closes, subject to the venue’s terms.

We will aim for a comfortable balance, but exact numbers cannot be guaranteed because bookings, cancellations and attendance can change.

You will check in, receive your free welcome drink and a name sticker. Add your real first name, a nickname if you like, and the two coloured subjects you would most like to discuss. Your host will welcome everyone, explain the evening and show you where to find the private QR code if you would like to join Event Match.

Yes. A nickname can be a fun conversation starter alongside your first name. It can be a real nickname or one you create just for the night—be creative, but keep it respectful. Event Match only asks you to add your first name and a current selfie.

Absolutely not. Your two coloured subjects appear on your sticker as conversation starters, not matching categories. You can speak to anyone you choose.

A waiting list will open for this event. Joining it will not add you to wider marketing unless you separately choose to hear about future events.
